For INAS Director, Darren Lemin, cancer has impacted him and his loved ones once too often.
In the past, Darren was diagnosed and successfully beat leukaemia, several of their close friends have lost their lives and just last week, the family farewelled their beloved patriarch, Don 'Grumpy' Smith - Michelle's Father, after a long battle with the disease.
On the weekend Darren, Michelle, their family and friends, participated in the Relay for Life - an event to celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost and an opportunity to fight back against cancer.
Relay For Life began in Australia in 1999, when the Victorian community of Murrumbeena raised over $75,000 for Cancer Council. Relay For Life is now run in every state and territory and raises over $14 million each year for the cancer fight.
