Dr Raaj Chandra is a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon practising at the Epworth Hospitals in Richmond and Box Hill. He also consults at Northpark Private hospital in Bundoora. Dr Chandra specialises in colonoscopy, gastroscopy, major bowel resections including advanced laparoscopic (key hole) surgery for bowel cancer and inflammatory bowel disease. He also specialises in perianal conditions, hernia surgery and surgical emergencies.

Dr Chandra completed his general surgical training through the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). He has also completed 3 years of post-fellowship training in Colorectal Surgery at the Royal Adelaide hospital, St Vincent's hospital Melbourne and the Geelong hospital.

Dr Chandra was awarded a United Nations Medal for service in East Timor in 2004 as part of the United Nations Aeromedical Evacuation team. He also has an Australian Service Medal, as well as The Australian Defence Force medal for more than 9 years service in the Royal Australian Air Force as a Medical/ Senior Medical Officer.
