Dr Michael Groome is a Clinical Psychologist with over 30 years of extensive experience in all aspects of psychology and is available to see patients at his private consulting suites at Northpark Private Hospital in Bundoora.

Dr Groome completed his B.A (Psychology/Sociology) at Swinburne University in 1978 and has held a variety of nurse-therapist roles, which incorporated both therapy and counselling approaches.

In 1981 Dr Groome completed 3 years at the Austin Hospital Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy Training Program and received his MSc. (Psychology/Psychiatry), from the Dept of Psychiatry, University of Melbourne in 1986.

During this time, Dr Groome was the first nurse-clinician at the Children???s Court Clinic, where he provided assessments, court reports, and therapy, as well as conducting staff training at the Victorian Youth Training Centres.

In 1984, Dr Groome completed Basic and Advanced Courses with the Australian Society for Hypnosis.

Between 1986 -2009, Dr Groome was a Lecturer in Psychology, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychopharmacology and Communication Skills at Australian Catholic University.

Dr Groome received his PhD (Psychology) from LaTrobe University in 2004.

In 1995, Dr Groome commenced his private practice at Northpark Private Hospital Consulting Suites.
